National Museum of Denmark

National Museum of Denmark

• 3 minutes reading time

The National Museum is the largest cultural-historical museum in Denmark. It comprises several museums and monuments spread across the entire country. The museum’s primary building is located in inner Copenhagen, housed within the Prince’s Mansion (Danish: Prinsens Palæ). This location serves as the museum’s administrative centre and features numerous exhibitions that recount the history of Denmark and the Danish people through both permanent and temporary displays. Within these exhibitions, visitors can view artifacts ranging from a more than 10,000-year-old auroch to items from the supermarket chain Irma, which closed in 2023 … and everything in between.
